Evening Yerevan is peculiarly beautiful, especially when the illumination of buildings is lit and the capital turns into a night fairy tale. You will feel the atmosphere of the pink city, walk through interesting streets, and starting in may you will see a show of fountains dancing to the rhythm of music, sit in cozy cafes.

Khor Virap

We shall approach the foot of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

We shall visit the monastery at the foot of the biblical mountain, located 40 km away from Yerevan. The monastery is known for its location that provides a wonderful view to the Mount Ararat. Here St. Grigor Lusavorich, the first Christian mentor, carried his torments.  Just thanks to the efforts of St. Grigor Lusavorich Armenia adopted Christianity in 301. 

Noravank

The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church.

Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery.

The excavation is located above the Arpa River, inside a Karst Cavern made from tens of thousands of years of mineral water dripping into limestone crevices.

It consists of three rooms or halls, the first two of which are connected by passageways. There are also niches and “basement” and “attic” floors opening upward and downward from the first room. The total area of the cave is about 500 square meters

Eghegis, the church of warriors

A unique monastery of the Armenian architecture

We shall visit the church that is one in its type in the territory of Armenia. Why is this church so unique? Other constructions of this type have not preserved in the territory of Armenia. Here there are no internal premises for worshipers, it is replaced by a platform in front of the church, intended for foot and horse warriors who set off on a war and came here for blessing. 

Winery

The Legend of the Silk Road

We shall visit the small winery of the Khalatyan family, located near the village Arpi at an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level. The hospitable owner Armen and his wife Ashkhen will tell us about their winery and give us to try their wines, which have received appraisal in many countries and exhibitions.

We shall admire the incredible views from the Selim Caravan-Saray.

Degustation of unique cheese

The kingdom of cheese with cognac flavor.
Armenian “Armezan” and cheese wrapped in grape leaves.

We shall go to a small family farm, where Arman and Marina  create unusual types of cheese that you will not find anywhere else. We are tasting alcoholic cheese - cheese with wine and with Armenian cognac, as well as cacotta - cheese wrapped in grape leaves, and a variety of parmesan cheese called Armesan. At the same time, you will try homemade wine.

Hayravank

Hayravank is a 9th to 12th century Armenian monastery located along the southwest shores of Lake Sevan.

Lake Sevan and the Monastery on the Peninsula

Enjoy the picturesque sight of the lake from the top of the hill of the peninsula. We shall visit one of the biggest freshwater lakes in the world.

We shall see the picturesque miracle of the nature "the Armenian pearl", one of the oldest freshwater high altitude lakes in the world. Enjoy the beautiful view of the lake from the peninsula hill, where the medieval monastery Sevanavank is located.

You will have the opportunity to dine on the shore of lake Sevan and try the barbeque of the famous Sevan whitefish and special barbeque from crabs.

Haghartsin

Let us go to one of the most mysterious places in Armenia - a wonderful monastery complex of the 11th-13th centuries - Haghartsin. This is the pearl of the canyon, immersed in the greenery of mountain forests.

What will we see

Ijevan winery

We shall visit one of the first wineries in Armenia, where you will have an excursion and tasting of various wine types.

Goshavank

The monastery where you can find one of the most beautiful cross stones (khachkar).

We shall visit a monastery of the 12nd century, one of the greatest cultural, literal and religious centers of the medieval Armenia. You will see the most beautiful cross stone (khachkar) - the work of the talented master of stone carving - master Poghos.

Dinner on the river bank

We shall have dinner in a restaurant near a river bank, where you will have free time. Afterwards, we shall return to Yerevan.

5-th day

What will we see

Erebuni

We shall visit the Urartian fortress Erebuni, erected in 782 BC. This is considered the beginning of the history of Yerevan, which is 29 years older than Rome. The museum exhibits ancient exponents, cuneiform tablets of the Urartian period, as well as samples of wheat, that is two thousand years old.

Etchmiadzin

Spiritual Center of all Armenians

According to most scholars Etchmiadzin was the first cathedral built in ancient Armenia, and is often considered the oldest cathedral in the world.

the Temple of St. Hripsime

A masterpiece of early Christian architecture

 We shall visit the Temple of St. Hripsime - a classic example of the early Christian architecture in Armenia.

Zvartnots Cathedral

Zvartnots Cathedral (literally 'celestial angels cathedral') is a 7th-century centrally planned aisled tetraconch type Armenian cathedral built by the order of Catholicos Nerses the Builder.

Grandpa Levon's Cave

A 21 meters deep underground labyrinth

A 21 meters deep unique underground labyrinth, which master Levon dug under his own house for 23 years, using ordinary hammers and chisels.

Geghard Rock Monastery

We shall visit a monastery carved out of the rock

We shall visit a medieval monastery, partially carved out of the adjacent rock listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with enhanced protection status. Here, from ancient times, there is a holy spring originating from a cave, which according to the legend heals any illness.

Garni pagan temple

We will see the only pagan temple in the territory of Transcaucasia.

An Ionic pagan temple located in the village of Garni. It is the best-known structure and symbol of pre-Christian Armenia. The structure was built by king Tiridates I in the first century AD as a temple to the sun god Mihr.

Winery in Voskevaz

Golden vine

We shall visit a unique winery in the foothills of the highest point of Armenia - Mount Aragats. In the atmosphere of a fabulous town we shall taste different sorts of wines.

Amberd

Fortress in the clouds

Let's go to the impregnable medieval fortress of the 7th century. It is located at an altitude of 2300m above sea level. We shall admire the nature and the picturesque views; visit the church of the 11th century. The name of the fortress is due to its location high in the mountains: “amperi berd” in translation means “fortress in the clouds”.

Saghmosavank

Psalms Monastery on the edge of a deep canyon

We continue our journey to Saghmosavank - a magnificent gorge, on top of which there is a 13th-century temple. Together we shall admire its picturesque views.

Alphabet

Red tuff letters

We shall visit the avenue of letters, where you can see the 39 letters of the Armenian alphabet created by St. Mesrop Mashtots at the very beginning of the 5th century. The letters are carved from red tufa.
