Evening walk in Yerevan

The city is 29 years older than Rome.

Evening Yerevan is peculiarly beautiful, especially when the illumination of buildings is lit and the capital turns into a night fairy tale. You will feel the atmosphere of the pink city, walk through interesting streets, and starting in may you will see a show of fountains dancing to the rhythm of music, sit in cozy cafes.

What will we see

Charents Arch

We begin our journey stopping at the Charents arch. From here, in fine weather one can see the sparkling snowy peaks of the Biblical Mount Ararat. 

Garni pagan temple

We will see the only pagan temple in the territory of Transcaucasia.

An Ionic pagan temple located in the village of Garni. It is the best-known structure and symbol of pre-Christian Armenia. The structure was built by king Tiridates I in the first century AD as a temple to the sun god Mihr.

Lavash baking master class

Let us bake Armenian lavash and then treat friends

We shall take part in the process of baking Armenian bread, and those who wish can try to bake the finest lavash and then treat their friends the freshest homemade cheese and fragrant greens wrapped in lavash.

Geghard Rock Monastery

We shall visit a monastery carved out of the rock

We shall visit a medieval monastery, partially carved out of the adjacent rock listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with enhanced protection status. Here, from ancient times, there is a holy spring originating from a cave, which according to the legend heals any illness.

Lake Sevan and the Monastery on the Peninsula

Enjoy the picturesque sight of the lake from the top of the hill of the peninsula. We shall visit one of the biggest freshwater lakes in the world.

We shall see the picturesque miracle of the nature "the Armenian pearl", one of the oldest freshwater high altitude lakes in the world. Enjoy the beautiful view of the lake from the peninsula hill, where the medieval monastery Sevanavank is located. 

Dinner at Lake Sevan

Sevan whitefish barbeque and a special barbeque from crabs

You will have the opportunity to dine on the shore of lake Sevan and try the barbeque of the famous Sevan whitefish and special barbeque from crabs.

What will we see

Khor Virap

We shall approach the foot of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

We shall visit the monastery at the foot of the biblical mountain, located 40 km away from Yerevan. The monastery is known for its location that provides a wonderful view to the Mount Ararat. Here St. Grigor Lusavorich, the first Christian mentor, carried his torments.  Just thanks to the efforts of St. Grigor Lusavorich Armenia adopted Christianity in 301. 

Areni – wine tasting

The sight of the most ancient winery

Let us continue with our trip to Areni, where you can get acquainted with the millennia-old traditions of the Armenian winemaking and taste various sorts of Armenian wine in the “Old Bridge” winery at the winemaker Armen.

Noravank

The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church.

Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery. 

Bird Cave

The excavation is located above the Arpa River, inside a Karst Cavern made from tens of thousands of years of mineral water dripping into limestone crevices.

It consists of three rooms or halls, the first two of which are connected by passageways. There are also niches and “basement” and “attic” floors opening upward and downward from the first room. The total area of the cave is about 500 square meters

Matenadaran

We shall start the day visiting the institute of ancient manuscripts – Matenadaran, which is a home to ancient and unique books and manuscripts in many languages. You will see unique samples of ancient manuscripts smaller in size than a matchbox containing 104 parchment pages and weighing only 19 grams. 
In Matenadaran professional guides will accompany you. 

Yerevan Vernissage

We shall visit Yerevan Vernissage  - the souvenir market, where you can buy silver, ceramic products, etc., after which you will have the opportunity to visit the market where you can buy fruits, dried fruits and other natural gifts. 

Etchmiadzin

Spiritual Center of all Armenians

According to most scholars Etchmiadzin was the first cathedral built in ancient Armenia, and is often considered the oldest cathedral in the world.

the Temple of St. Hripsime

A masterpiece of early Christian architecture

 We shall visit the Temple of St. Hripsime - a classic example of the early Christian architecture in Armenia.
